Jennifer Garner has once again charmed her fans with her relatable sense of humor, this time through an unexpected encounter with a chicken.
The 52-year-old actress took to Instagram to celebrate National Farmer’s Day on Saturday, October 12, with a post that highlighted her love for farming and the legacy of her family’s farm.
However, the celebration took a comedic turn when a feathered friend decided to join in the fun a little too closely.
In the opening clip, Garner is seen riding a toy tractor while sporting denim overalls, pulling a cart with a live chicken in tow.
As she makes a turn, the chicken suddenly leaps onto her head, causing the startled actress to shout, “I don’t like this!” before humorously adding, “I don’t have that much love for chickens,” all while exaggerating a cough for effect.
Garner‘s amusing encounter with the chicken was just one part of her heartfelt tribute to farmers and the legacy of her own family’s farm in Oklahoma.
Along with the playful video, Garner shared several other clips and photos that highlighted her dedication to agriculture and her connection to the land her grandparents purchased in 1936.
In one clip, she is seen planting a tree and affectionately kissing it, later sharing a time-lapse of herself tending to the tree as it grew. In another light-hearted moment, Garner drives a tractor while singing and harvesting sweet potatoes.
She also shared touching photos with her late father, William John Garner, and her mother, Patricia Ann Garner, both dressed in matching overalls as they worked the land together.
Her caption read: “Farmers are the heart of our country, Happy #NationalFarmersDay! Love from your biggest fan, Farmer Jen,” showcasing her deep appreciation for the farming community.
A Legacy of Family Farming
Jennifer Garner‘s connection to farming is deeply personal. Her family’s land, Locust Grove, located in Oklahoma, has been in her family since 1936.
Garner purchased the land in 2017 and has since used it to help grow produce for her company, Once Upon a Farm. The land primarily yields pumpkins, but also produces blueberries, field peas, rye, and native wildflowers.
Garner has openly shared her family’s struggles, particularly her mother’s experience growing up on the farm in challenging conditions.
For her mother, seeing the farm revived and producing crops for Once Upon a Farm has been a source of immense pride.
Garner expressed, “Of anything I’ve ever done, this means the most to my mom – that her farm is being brought back to life, and it’s growing things for babies. It’s just the coolest.”
Through her playful yet poignant post, Jennifer Garner not only entertained her followers but also honored the rich legacy of her family’s farming roots, proving once again that even in moments of humor, her deep connection to family and tradition remains strong.
